RESTORATION AFTER FIRE

OVERSTONE HALL

This Grade II listed C19 country mansion has been gutted by fire and the roof and part of the façade have collapsed. The building has lain abandoned for many years and is a ‘building at risk’.

An ambitious project, which would see the Hall restored and converted to apartments is the subject of listed building and planning applications. The task is to repair the elaborate facades and reinstate the lost roof and stone-mullioned bays. Additional enabling works are the subject of further applications to contribute to the high cost of rescuing this decaying heritage asset and restoring its significance.
