Britannic Park was an early example of office conversion to residential with a good deal of intervention in the original building. The Group designed the development for CALA Homes and Charles Church, as an apartment scheme and as a development of executive houses respectively. The apartments won a National House-Builder Design Award for Best Restoration and Conversion.
The core development of 113 apartments comprises the conversion of a former office building, which has been extended with new floors of penthouses at roof level and garden apartments at basement level. Two new apartment blocks with garden terraces situated above a decked underground car park enclose a circular court. A private swimming pool and gym are set in the landscaped grounds around the buildings.
The two adjacent crescents of town houses are designed to frame the adjoining cricket field and the group of individually-designed detached houses to provide a visual link with the surrounding area of mature ‘Arts and Crafts’ style housing.
