St Bernard's Lawns, Solihull

The development for CALA Homes of 22 spacious houses and 39 apartments is surrounded by sports fields and the wooded banks of Olton Mere.

The bespoke design responds specifically to the open aspect with balconies and large areas of glazing, and to the woodland setting with steeply pitched roofs and gables. Houses are arranged around mews courts and the majority of apartments are orientated to take advantage of views over the landscape. Pastel-coloured boarding and white-painted timber balustrades are used as a contrast to the multi-red brick facing to the main structure.
