Shops & Apartments, York

The retail and residential scheme in the centre of York for George Houlton & Son Ltd, is carefully designed to restore and convert a group of historic buildings, including two Grade II* listed buildings dating from the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries, to commercial and residential uses.

The site is in a conservation area and the setting of an ancient monument - York Minster, and other listed buildings. The converted buildings and adjacent new mews development contains five shops, a restaurant and seventeen apartments arranged around a courtyard and parterre garden.

The development gained the RICS Pro Yorkshire Outstanding Achievement and Conservation Awards.
