Pitmaston Court, Birmingham
The new three-storey development for Grainger Homes was designed to complement a substantial block of mansion apartments which were refurbished as part of the overall scheme.
The entrance elevation is designed to harmonise with the brick and stone facades of existing buildings. The semi-circular rear of the building is of lighter design to respond to its prominent position on the ridge above a valley, seen in protected views from Birmingham University. The nine lower flats have balconies to benefit from the open outlook and the top floor penthouse has a substantial terrace.
