The Octagon,
Edgbaston High School

The Octagon, situated in the school's central courtyard, is designed as a focal point for school activities. It provides either clear open space for teaching, rehearsal and examinations or, through the operation of electronically controlled banks of seating and staging, a fully-equipped 600-seat performance space.

When the theatre layout is in use, lighting, projection and sound are monitored from a control room overlooking the stage. The building is self-contained with front and back-of-house facilities for visitors and performers.
