Urban Design
The quality and appropriateness of architectural design in the urban context is an increasingly important issue in planning inquiries. We have built up a reputation for undertaking independent appraisals and presenting evidence in this field.

Listed Buildings
We have provided assessments of the historical and architectural merits of listed buildings to make the case for alteration, conversion and extension, where this would protect the future of the heritage asset. We have appraised buildings where applications have been made for listing, re-appraised listed buildings and in exceptional circumstances made the case for demolition and reconstruction of buildings where this level of intervention can be justified.

Conservation Areas
We have undertaken formal conservation area appraisals and justification statements on the demolition of un-listed buildings where they fail to enhance the character and appearance of the area and set out the merits of introducing new development in conservation areas.
