Conservation

The task of our conservation team is to restore the fabric of historic buildings and to assist in ensuring they remain in beneficial use. We carefully research the history and construction of listed buildings, use traditional techniques to retain their special character and take a creative approach to re-use and conversion to extend their useful life.

A specialist consultancy service is offered to advise on design and conservation issues relating to development which affects listed buildings or falls within conservation areas; more information on this aspect of our work is included under the heading Research & Appraisal.
